MARK HARRISON, Assistant Director
Mark Harrison, our Head Tennis Professional is entering his first year at Inwood with over 40 years of experience as a professional tennis instructor and coach. Mark has been ranked as high as #2 in doubles and #4 in singles nationally by the USTA. He is a master at running tournaments (singles and doubles) for all levels of play. Mark was named Long Island Tennis Professional of the year in 2014. He has held many National and Eastern rankings, and in 2009 and 2011 was a finalist at the USTA 55 National Grass Court Doubles Championships Under Mark's guidance, our tennis pros and staff are available for lessons and hitting, six days a week.
DAVID BRENT, Head Pro
Head pro at Tennisport LIC New York from 1980-1995. Tennis Director at Nassau Indoor Tennis from 1995-2015, Owner/ Tennis Director 2015-2020. David was the winner of the Ohio Valley Conference singles champion for Tennessee Tech in 1975. He was the number 1 in men’s doubles in 35’s, 45’s, 55’s, and 65’s in the Eastern Division. Winner of the National men’s 45’s doubles in 2000.
JACK OLSEN, Senior Pro
Jack has been making tennis fun for his students at Nassau Tennis Center for 44 years. Back in 1974 he played #1 for the Stony Brook tennis team. He coached at camps for many summers and the last 7 years at Inwood Country Club. He has many drills and games to work on strokes to improve all skills including cross court forehand for doubles, approach shots, passing shots, overheads, backhands, volleys and serves.
RICHARD YOUNG, Staff Pro
Richard Young, Is joining us this year on Saturdays and Sundays. He has been teaching Tennis on Long Island for over 20 years. He was an Eastern Racket Junior and was ranked #5 in the East in Mixed Doubles. He has been working with the 10 and under Quick Start programs ages 4-9 and started the 1st Men's League at Queens College Tennis Center in 2002. He was also All-County and All State High School player at Ramapo Senior High School in Monsey N.Y.
ANNA EDELMAN, Staff Pro
Anna Edelman is a tennis professional with 8+ years of experience teaching adults and juniors. She specializes in running high-energy cardio tennis clinics as well as working with tournament players. A native of New York, Anna has been an avid tennis player since childhood, and was a strong competitor as a junior. She played in USTA tournaments in the 12s through the 18s at the regional and national level including Nationals, Super Nationals and ITF tournaments. Anna was recruited to Binghamton University’s NCAA Division 1 Women’s Tennis Team where she competed at Number 1 singles and doubles. Upon graduation, Anna was hired as the assistant coach for the women’s team where she was tasked with motivating the team, organizing practices and working on strategy with the players. Anna is USPTA and Cardio Tennis Certified and will be inducted into Binghamton University's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2019.
